Even though it is the middle of Summer and 90 degrees outside, we are reading the Goopy Christmas book. It is very colorful and very well written, and the children that I take care of love it. A great book to buy for young children.

“The Goopy Ghost at Christmas”
Goopy, the ghost that stole our hearts and Halloween treats is back! This time, he’s getting into mischief on Christmas Eve. Author V.R. Duin brings everyone’s favorite ghost to life again in “The Goopy Ghost at Christmas”.
In typical Goopy style, he devours the candy canes that decorated the tree and eats the cookies that were left out for Santa. Then he uses his goo to stick decorations to the wall.
Tired from his Goopy activities, stuffed with goodies, he slips in Santa’s sack to nap. Poor Goopy freezes while on the sleigh. Imagine the elves surprise when a Goopy ghost appears from the thawing pile of goop!
This new, fun filled tale is a must-read bedtime story for Christmas Eve! I’m already looking forward to the next book. Can’t wait to find out where a Goopy Ghost appears next.

This is the second Goopy Ghost book that I bought and it was just as cute as the first one. I think the grandchildren liked it even more or maybe it’s because they were familiar with the character that made them enjoy it. We are hoping that the author will do more books with Goopy Ghost!

5.0 out of 5 stars “Read it again, Mama!”

I ordered a couple of books for our 2 ½-year old recently; among them was The Goopy Ghost of Christmas. We read it for the first time this morning. As we were reading, my daughter did not say anything. I was not sure what she thought of her new book or if she even paid attention. When I finished she paused thoughtfully, tapped the book, and said, “Read that again, Mama!” After reading it a second time she said, “That was a nice Christmas book.”
This is a fun book for Christmas with a fresh twist to it unlike any other. Santa is there, but so is Goopy who hitches a ride in Santa’s sack. Who would have thought that pumpkin goop could scare Santa’s elves? So funny and creative!
Babies and toddlers will be attracted to the colors and illustrations, as well as the rhyming in the story. My daughter and I look forward to the next adventure of this goopy, droopy ghost!

V. R. Duin is an excellent author of Children’s Books. The Goopy Ghost Series of books are written in a way to keep children interested as well as to help teach them important life lessons. I personally know that these books are being used in schools and added to school libraries across the country. Besides writing excellent books, V. R. Duin donates a lot of time to children, making appearances at schools to read her books. She truly cares about the children’s education. I highly recommend these books to parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts.

The goopy ghost is born of pie,
A luscious way to start!
Good humored and so full of fun,
He demonstrates his heart.
Our friend the ghost is so surprised,
To find a tree inside;
He thinks the baubles on its limbs,
are “Food for me!” he sighed.
Content is he and explores some more;
And decorates a hall,
With candy canes, and ribbons bright,
And here and there a ball.
When Santa arrives, he hitches a ride
Deep within Santa’s pack.
He awakes up North and meets some elves,
To help–if he has the knack.
But making toys is not his niche,
So he decorates instead.
He brightens the halls with toys ‘n dolls,
And all things green and red.
When our goopy friend returns to his home,
A year’s time has passed;
“As happy as a lark” to help some more,
Putting cheer in our hearts to last.
I know of children who will love this book,
And read it again and again;
They will love the colors and the cheerful tone,
And the message to help a friend.
My hat is off to V. R. Duin,
For such a gleeful read;
Let’s look for ways to teach our kids,
to do a kindly deed.

The Goopy Ghost gets into the “spirit” of the season by tasting the yummy cookies and candy, then redecorates the hosts’ home with magical art of a very goopy nature. Lilly, the little girl whose house is being “haunted”, wants the ghost to stay, but the silly ghost slips into the toy bag and secretly rides shotgun with The Man in Red. With Santa’s sleigh bound for the North Pole, the poor ghost freezes. Fortunately, our bright orange spirit thaws and shows the elves a good time, while spreading much good will. Lilly is promised another visit, too!

This wonderful story with beautiful illustrations will capture the spirit of the season and give you and your children fun ideas for your holiday celebrations. The Goopy Ghost will surely let children and their families see how much fun planning for Christmas can be. You will not only have a great story but also great ideas of creating your own Goopy fun.
You might want to plant some pumpkins seeds and put this story book on your list right away! The elves are already at work and it is best to be prepared. Let this book entertain and lead to great activities that Lily and her family share.
As with the other V.R. Duin books this will just add to the fun and excitement of looking forward to that special time, Christmas time. Be sure to look for other holiday books and enjoy each one.
Time goes by fast, but good memories of story times will stay within the hearts of your children forever!

As a therapist who sometimes works with children and families I deeply appreciate the contributions a good book can make to the mental health of children and families. Reading moments are bonding moments, sharing moments, moments of emotional intimacy. Quiet moments spent between parent and child in the company of a character like Goopy are an important part of a child’s growth and well-being and help to shape a love for learning and reading in the young one’s developing mind.
The Goopy Ghost at Christmas isn’t a good children’s book. It is an EXCELLENT children’s book. I’ve already opened conversation with a local elementary school about making the Goopy books a part of their holiday celebrations. What a wonderful gift that will be!

Goopy is a unique character who can add spirit to any holiday. Starting off of course at Halloween, the Goopy Ghost series makes its way through other fall holidays having plenty of mischief. Our daughter loves to read each Goopy story during the coordinating celebration in our home. She loves when he helps Santa and that is why it is a must read for bedtime Christmas Eve.

“The Goopy Ghost at Christmas” is a festive story by Little Ray Children’s Books. It follows Goopy Ghost, who comes to life from leftover pumpkin goop, as he explores a home decorated for Christmas. Goopy enjoys milk and cookies left for Santa and helps with holiday decorations. The adventure takes a magical turn when Goopy ends up in Santa’s bag, joining him on a sleigh ride.
