    I purchased this book for my four children (ages 9, 5, 3, and 1). They all love it:

    9 loves reading it 5.

    The first day I read it to them, they asked me to read it a second time. The second day, when I asked them what we should read for bedtime they all clamored for it. The third day, I couldn’t find it – turns out 3 had taken it off the shelf and was keeping it in his room. When I asked him for it, so I could read it, he told me I should get my own copy – this one is his! As for me, I really enjoy the easy lyrical nature of the text. It’s fun to read, and an instant family favorite. I’m looking forward to more.

    I recently bought Goopy Ghost for my seven-month-old baby for her first Halloween. Although she is too young to sit still for most books, she really took to Goopy. The illustrations are vibrant, and the story is rhythmic enough to catch her attention (and that’s hard to do with a seven-month-old!).

    I also enjoyed the book, which is not always the case with some children’s stories I read that seem pointless and end abruptly. The adventures of Goopy Ghost (stealing candy, trying to put out the “fire” in his house) are entertaining and original enough for both children and adults to enjoy it.

    The soft cover and texture of the book is also wonderful for my little one to bop it around without hurting herself, which she did with much delight immediately after her first reading.

    Goopy will be a friend in our household for many years to come!

The kids love using their imagination when we carve pumpkins to see if Goopy is coming alive for some fun in our pumpkin goop. Just as he surprises and does in “The Goopy Ghost of Halloween”.
